Effective date: 21 October 2026
Dino Reader (“the app”) is a book reader for children aged 3 to 8. It reads stories aloud with a different voice for each character. This policy explains how the app handles data, for the children who use it and the grown-ups who set it up.
Dino Reader does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party components that collect data. Everything the app does happens on the device.
Voice and language packs only. The app downloads voice and language packs (files it needs to speak, recognise and translate text) from this project’s public GitHub Releases page. The download is a plain file request: no account, no identifier, and none of the stories, photos or scans is sent. Once a pack is installed the app works offline.
Like any web request, the download is seen by the server that hosts the file (GitHub), which may log the device’s IP address under its own privacy policy. Dino Reader itself does not receive or keep that information.
The app declares the Internet and Network state permissions, used only to download voice and language packs and to tell “offline” from a failed download. Pages you scan and photos you pick are processed on the device and never leave it. Choosing a file or photo uses the standard Android picker, and the app only opens what you pick.
Dino Reader is designed for children, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children. It has no accounts, no ads, no social features, no behavioural tracking, and no way for a child to send information to anyone. Settings and the story library sit behind a grown-ups gate. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing for a parent to review, correct or delete beyond the content on their own device, which they can remove by deleting a story or clearing the app’s storage.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same URL with a new effective date.
